Responsibilities
- Providing 1:1 support to students with additional learning needs ensuring they are fully engaged in lessons and able to access the curriculum.
- Assisting the class teacher in delivering tailored interventions adapting materials and resources to suit the individual needs of students.
- Supporting students in their social development helping them build confidence friendships and positive behavior in the classroom and playground.
- Working closely with the schools SEN team and external specialists to monitor and assess students progress contributing to individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Maintaining a positive and encouraging relationship with students helping them to feel safe and supported in their learning journey.
Experience and Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) or in a similar role supporting children with additional needs is preferred.
- A passion for inclusive education and supporting children with learning challenges.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with students staff and parents.
- A patient empathetic and positive attitude towards supporting childrens individual learning needs.
- A clear DBS check
- Legal right to work within the UK
