Senior Accountant

What this role is responsible for:

Crimson Education is a leading EdTech group with a diverse portfolio of services across 30 markets. We are seeking a financial accountant to join the team in Auckland and to assist in managing both daytoday and monthly financial operations.

This is a fulltime position that can be worked remotely or in one of our many offices around the globe.

What are the main responsibilities for this role

  • Prepare monthly financial statements and reports
  • Complete month end financial close including reconciling balance sheet and intercompany accounts
  • Ensuring timely and accurate preparation of monthly departmental reporting
  • Assisting with the preparation of the year end group financial statements and audit
  • Leading the preparation of subsidiary year end financial statements audit and tax compliance in conjunction with external accounting firms
  • Preparing and reviewing GST/VAT returns
  • Work closely with stakeholders and provide financial insights to support decisionmaking
  • Contribute to financial risk management implementing and maintaining robust internal controls to safeguard Crimson assets
  • Adhoc financial analysis and reporting as required
  • Supporting finance projects and driving continuous improvement
  • Supporting the SVP Finance and Senior Group Accountant

What skills and experience are required

    • Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting or a related field
    • CA qualification or close to completing CA studies (or equivalent).
    • Proven experience as an Accountant in a reporting role preferably in a technology or professional services company with global operations
    • Proficiency in using financial software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
    • Team player
    • Ability to work independently
    • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
    • Strong attention to detail proactive and responsible
    • Outstanding communication and strong interpersonal skills
