Allied Reliability is seeking a Refrigeration Technician for Food & Beverage production. The Refrigeration Technician’s basic function is to ensure the Ammonia Refrigeration system is kept safe and reliably operating. This would include the Ammonia Refrigeration Glycol cooling loop Boilers Compressed Air and Water Supply. The Refrigeration Technician will be responsible for daily and weekly PMs and normal inspections partnering with our thirdparty provider on more detailed PMs and system work. The Refrigeration Technician will work as primary contact for all system issues not requiring outside assistance. This is a cross functional position that is required to work in a variety of Maintenance related tasks in support of our Production Operation. This position is also responsible for understanding related Quality Management Systems including SQF HACCP and GMP to ensure safety and quality of employees and products. A supervisor or other person of authority should be notified if any issues or threats to food safety or food quality are observed.
DaytoDay - Responsible for assuring food safety and for food quality for our products.
- Perform Ammonia Systems established Preventative Maintenance and identify new PM activities as needed to supplement contracted work.
- Light repair of Ammonia Systems related equipment in support of all PM and Mechanical Integrity work.
- Analyze and solve electro/mechanical problems
- Will be a primary resource for maintaining the Ammonia System portion of the electronic PM program.
- Work alongside other Maintenance personnel on projects beyond refrigeration activities
- Comply with plant regulatory programs such as and Risk Management Program (RMP)
- Support project management activity relative to utility system
Required Skills
- Two years “hands on” mechanical experiences in the areas of ammonia refrigeration natural gas fired boilers and compressed air systems.
- Working knowledge of Process Safety Management program (PSM) relative to Ammonia Refrigeration Systems.
- Ability to write Standard Operating Procedures for equipment.
- Able to work collaboratively across functional boundaries.
- Must be willing to work cross functionally in other Maintenance related projects in support of building improvements production improvements equipment setup etc.
- Must be able to read and follow blueprints drawings and schematics
- Familiar with PLCs process instrumentation and process drawings
