Roles and responsibilities

In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the efficient operation of complex equipment across multiple process areas while adhering to safety and quality standards. Your primary responsibilities will include operating various equipment and performing simple troubleshooting when necessary. You'll be expected to ensure that the correct process parameters are consistently met, which is essential for maintaining product quality and managing inventory effectively.

A significant aspect of your duties will involve monitoring and controlling operations through the Distributed Control System (DCS). You’ll be responsible for taking corrective actions as needed to maintain optimal performance. Your role will also require active participation during emergency response situations, following standard procedures and instructions from senior personnel to ensure safety and compliance.

Compliance with all relevant quality and Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) procedures is paramount to fostering a healthy and safe work environment. While you will operate with minimal supervision, your work must align with established policies and practices. You will need to observe and report unsafe or safe acts in a timely manner, contributing to a culture of safety within the team.

Furthermore, you will be involved in training other operators and technicians. Your guidance will be essential in helping them meet performance standards and enhancing overall team capabilities. Effective communication will be key in this role, as you’ll need to convey complex information clearly and succinctly to ensure all team members understand their responsibilities and procedures.

Desired candidate profile

To be successful in this position, a diploma degree and a minimum of four years of experience in a similar field are required. You should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a solid understanding of industry standards, market dynamics, and product knowledge. Familiarity with plant operations and technical safety measures will be beneficial, as will knowledge of manufacturing processes and operational procedures.

Your ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, will be essential for collaboration within the team and for compliance with operational standards. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, will also be necessary for documentation and reporting purposes.
