This role is essential to our operations, contributing to our commitment to high-quality fabrication and structural work. Job Overview:
The Technician III, Welding position is designed for a skilled individual with a strong background in steel fabrication and structural measurement. This role demands a comprehensive understanding of Bill of Materials (BOM) for structural projects, ensuring that all necessary components are accurately accounted for before work begins.
Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
Blueprint Interpretation: You will read and interpret sketches and blueprints, calculating the materials required for different projects. This skill is crucial for developing accurate BOMs and ensuring project efficiency.
Steel Fabrication: The core of this position involves hands-on steel fabrication and executing structural works. You will work with various types of steel, including Mild Steel (MS) and Stainless Steel (SS), showcasing your versatility and expertise in metalworking.
Cutting and Welding: You will perform cutting and welding on different kinds of steel, adhering to safety standards and quality control measures. Your proficiency in various welding techniques will be essential for producing high-quality work.
Structural Installation: You will also be involved in the installation of structural components. Your experience will help ensure that all installations are completed accurately and to the highest standards.
Material Selection: A key aspect of your role will be the selection of appropriate steel grades for fabrication works. Your knowledge of material properties will contribute to the durability and functionality of the finished products.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess a diploma or welding certificate, complemented by at least five years of hands-on experience in fabrication works. This experience should demonstrate a strong foundation in welding techniques and metal fabrication, as well as an ability to work effectively with diverse steel materials.
