Job Description

education counsellor also known as a career counsellor guidance counsellor student counsellor or academic advisor helps students achieve their academic and personal goals:

Assess students

Evaluate students strengths weaknesses interests and aspirations.

Develop plans

Create personalized education plans based on each students abilities and aspirations.

Provide guidance

Help students with course selection career planning and college applications.

Offer information

Provide information on educational opportunities scholarship opportunities and admission processes.

Counsel students

Advise students on their academic personal and social needs.

Collaborate with others

Work with teachers parents and other educational stakeholders to facilitate a supportive learning environment.

Administer tests

Administer and interpret standardized intelligence personality vocational aptitude and interest tests.

Organize events

Organize workshops and information sessions on various educational pathways and opportunities.

Education counsellors need to stay updated with the latest educational trends scholarship opportunities and admission processes. They also need to be able to communicate effectively with students parents school administrators and other staff

meeting with clients virtually or during sales visits. demonstrating and presenting products. establishing new business. maintaining accurate records. attending trade exhibitions, conferences and meetings. reviewing sales performance. negotiating contracts and packages.
