Job Description
Job Title: FullStack Web Developer (WooCommerce)
Reports to: Head of Marketing
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled FullStack Web Developer with extensive experience in WooCommerce to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing developing and maintaining both frontend and backend components of our website. This role requires proficiency in fullstack development including the creation of scalable applications database management and ensuring crossplatform responsiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
WooCommerce Development:
- Develop and maintain custom themes and plugins for WooCommerce ensuring alignment with the companys branding and functionality requirements.
- Customize WooCommerce functionalities including payment gateways product pages and checkout processes.
- Optimize the WooCommerce platform for performance security and scalability.
- Implement thirdparty services and APIs for payment processing inventory management and shipping.
FrontEnd Development:
- Develop userfacing features and ensure optimal user experience across all devices (desktop tablet mobile).
- Collaborate with UI/UX designers to translate designs into fully functional web applications.
- Build reusable code and libraries for future use and ensure frontend code is optimized for speed.
- Ensure crossplatform responsiveness mobilefirst design and compatibility with various browsers.
BackEnd Development:
- Develop and maintain serverside logic databases and WooCommerce functionalities to support website performance.
- Implement security measures including regular updates and patches for WooCommerce and WordPress.
- Optimize the application for maximum speed and scalability managing caching and load balancing when needed.
- Handle data storage solutions ensuring the security and integrity of customer and order data.
General Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot debug and resolve issues within the WooCommerce platform.
- Stay uptodate with WooCommerce and WordPress updates as well as emerging technologies in the ecommerce space.
- Collaborate with the ecommerce manager marketing team and graphic designers to implement new website features and product updates.
- Maintain technical documentation of development processes including codebases and custom implementations.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience:
- Proven experience as a fullstack developer working with WooCommerce and WordPress.
- Experience with frontend technologies (HTML CSS JavaScript React.js/Angular/Vue.js).
- Proficiency in backend development with PHP (especially in the context of WordPress and WooCommerce) database management (MySQL) and API integration.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of WooCommerce core functions WordPress themes and plugin development.
- Experience customizing WooCommerce functionalities (payment gateways shipping methods inventory management).
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and integration of thirdparty services (e.g. payment processors CRM tools etc.).
- Knowledge of security best practices including SSL data encryption and website security for WordPress and WooCommerce.
- Familiarity with performance optimization techniques for WooCommerce (caching CDN integration image compression etc.).
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical details to nontechnical team members.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with WooCommerce extensions and plugins (e.g. WooCommerce Subscriptions Memberships etc.).
- Familiarity with cloud hosting platforms (e.g. AWS Google Cloud) and CDN configuration for WooCommerce sites.
- Experience with SEO best practices as they relate to WooCommerce and WordPress development.
