Job Description
Job Title: Histopathology Technician.
Location: Danville IL 61832
Duration: 1 Year or Full time (options for 26 weeks contract)
Start date: Jan 2025
Shift Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00 am 4:30 pm.
Qualifications
Preferred certification in Histopathology
Experience: Minimum oneyear experience.
Responsibilities
- Accession and receive samples into the laboratory information system ensuring proper preparation and physiological integrity of specimens.
- Perform automated and nonautomated procedures in Cytology and Surgical Pathology following established protocols.
- Calibrate standardize and maintain instruments perform quality control checks and make necessary repairs.
- Conduct quality control procedures maintain records and perform validation studies on lab equipment.
- Ensure compliance with quality assurance programs manage records in the Histology department and monitor temperature in histology areas.
- Liaise with clinics providers Decedents affairs and funeral homes regarding specimens labeling and morgue compliance.
- Handle tasks related to frozen section processing and maintain supplies and records for the department.
