Job Description

Event Operatioins Houseperson

You represent Fairmont Century Plaza with enthusiasm and pride providing exceptional service and attention for each guest you encounter. You are energetic and confident and will encourage your teammates to achieve and be positive. You are entrusted with the responsibility of ensuring the best possible experience for your guests at all times. You are primarily responsible for the setup and breakdown of Events meeting rooms in accordance with the Event Order (EO) and diagram specifications. You are also responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of all meeting rooms storage areas and equipment such as tables chairs risers transport carts easels and other Events equipment.


What you will be doing:

  • Consistently offers outgoing professional and engaging service
  • Follows/Exceeds Accor and Fairmont Century Plaza standards
  • Assists Managers Captains and fellow Heartists in exceeding guest satisfaction
  • Checks in and out with Events Houseperson Supervisor Events Manager and / or Captain and takes direction
  • Sets event rooms with equipment such as tables chairs stages risers trashcans water stations as detailed on each Event Order and diagram
  • Makes minor changes and adjustments to room setups with full communication to Events manager to better service guests and Heartists
  • Works quickly yet safely when a room setup must be changed in a minimum amount of time
  • Carefully sets maintains stores and safeguards Events equipment
  • Keeps event areas and storerooms clean and organized at all times
  • Assists with Events equipment inventories
  • Assist guests with packages between loading dock and function areas per Fairmont Century Plaza package policies
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications :

Your experience and skills include:

  • 1 to 2 years in Event Operations or related area required
  • Ability to lift carry and transport relatively heavy equipment
  • Has a friendly positive attitude
  • Stays calm under pressure with an ability to problem solve in a fastpaced environment
  • Good communicational skills
  • Previous experience in a fastpaced and active environment preferred
  • Basic knowledge of technology use (computer device radios)
