Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will lead the mechanical engineering design process through all project phases, including conceptual, schematic, design development, and construction documents. This involves managing and coordinating with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, such as architects, contractors, and clients, to ensure seamless collaboration and project alignment.
Your role will include performing detailed calculations to support your design work, utilizing Eurocodes and other relevant industry standards to ensure compliance and safety in all deliverables. You will also be responsible for creating and reviewing comprehensive drawing packages, specifications, and other technical documents to maintain high standards of quality and precision.
Conducting quality assurance and quality control checks on all mechanical engineering deliverables will be essential to your position, ensuring that every aspect of the project meets or exceeds industry benchmarks. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and team members, fostering their professional growth and contributing to a culture of excellence within our organization.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is preferred, as it demonstrates a commitment to the highest standards of the profession. A minimum of five years of experience in structural engineering is required, with a preference for candidates who have at least seven years of relevant experience.
Proficiency in Eurocodes and other relevant design codes and standards is essential, as is proven experience with the RIBA stages of work and other design processes. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are crucial, as you will be expected to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders and articulate complex engineering concepts in an accessible manner.
