Job Description
- Assist in the care of the surgical patient. Handles the instruments supplies and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure.
- He/she has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon.
- He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.
- Follows the instructions of physicians and RNs closely adhering to established hospital policies related to the operating room.
- Maintains a Safe Environment: Practices Standard Precautions at all times.
- Maintains a safe environment in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory agencies.
- Must be able to push/pull/lift up to 35lbs.
- Must be able to tolerate long periods of sitting standing and/or walking.
- Certified surgical technician required.
