You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe shifts will primarily be 7A7P however time to time a shift may need to be 11A11p 3P3A 3A3P depending on the unit needs. will need to orient to work charge 28 bed Inpatient psychiatric unit acute care crisis stabilization Caring for adult patients ages 18 years of age and older Care is provided to the following patients: with chronic mental illness with a situational crisis that results in suicidal thoughts or actions with a combination of mental illness and substance abuse issues Multidisciplinary approach with nursing staff psychiatrists psychiatry residents advanced practitioners caseworkers therapists and OT staff Nursing staff consists of RNs LPNs and NAs. Nursing staff ratio is 1:4 or 1:5. We use a shared scheduling model with every other weekend and every other holiday required. We staff in 8 hour blocks of time. The unit is team focused. The ideal candidate is someone who has strong psychiatric assessment skills and is able to remain calm and professional in all circumstances. The leadership team consists of an Operations Director a clinical team manager 2 team coordinators and 1 nurse educator. Job Description Assesses plans organizes performs andevaluates nursing activities to meet the needs of the patient. Promotesadaptive responses of patient and family to achieve the highest level ofpatient care promote safety and maximize patient satisfaction. Exhibitscompassionate care during patientnurse interactions. Coordinates patient careand interaction of staff. Meets the qualifications to provide care for patientsin their assigned nursing unit. Responsible for ensuring the very best patientand family experience by optimizing all interactions. Completes assessments as established by scope of practice and unit standards. Addresses physical psychological social cultural and spiritual needs of patient and family throughout the continuum of care. Formulates coordinates and provides plan of care as established in unit standards including patient and family education family needs and discharge planning throughout hospitalization with members of the interdisciplinary team. Provides direct patient care including treatments medications and diagnostic studies according to policy and procedure. Evaluates effectiveness of nursing interventions and revises plan of care based upon patient response to interventions. Initiates collaboration with physicians ancillary personnel and other interdisciplinary team members and acts to proactively resolve and facilitate patient needs. Problem solves troubleshoots and takes corrective measures in the care and handling of equipment. Participates in unitbased decisionmaking regarding the utilization of evidence based practice. Actively participates as a team member working toward team goals of the unit and organization and is accountable for unit and system specific metrics. Actively participates in patient quality and safety education programs and other activities designed to improve departmental and organizational quality and safety. Work istypically performed in a clinical environment. Accountable for satisfying alljob specific obligations and complying with all organization policies andprocedures.
