Company Overview:
Our client a global freight forwarder with decades of continued expansion and success is seeking an Air and Ocean Export Agent to join their dynamic team. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the companys ongoing growth and deliver exceptional service in international freight forwarding operations.
Job Summary:
The Import/Export Operations Specialist is responsible for managing air and ocean import/export shipments ensuring compliance with industry regulations preparing quotes and providing outstanding customer service. The ideal candidate will possess a positive enthusiastic attitude with a sense of urgency and a commitment to delivering results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily air and ocean import/export shipments.
- Prealert agents and shippers organize and prepare documentation and follow up with steamship lines.
- Maintain daily reports for pending shipments and ensure all required documents are received and sent as needed.
- File AES and other required documentation to process export shipments.
- Arrange pickups deliveries and container loading as required.
- Provide regular customer service updates including tracking cargo from origin to destination.
- Set up billing and manage payables related to shipments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Skills & Expertise:
- Indepth knowledge of freight forwarding with a focus on air and ocean export operations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel Word Outlook); experience with CargoWise or similar freight forwarding software is advantageous.
- Commitment to delivering excellent customer service with effective communication and followup skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a crossfunctional team or independently with minimal supervision to achieve results.
- Strong interpersonal skills that foster longterm customer relationships.
- Practical problemsolving and decisionmaking skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively prioritize tasks and work under pressure.
Qualifications:
- 13 years of experience in international freight forwarding logistics operations.
- 13 years of customer service experience preferably in the logistics industry.
- Minimum high school diploma or GED.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. (Visa/sponsorship not available).
Compensation: $50000.00 $65000.00 per year
