Duties: Job Summary:Conducts or participates in special procedures while working directly with the radiologist to obtain specific results to be used by physicians for diagnostic purposes and interventional treatment.Standby call also required. Performs special procedures in a manner that ensures an accurate and complete examination within the guidelines policies procedures and standards of Medical Imaging to assigned patients of all ages. Performs sure guidance and needle guidance using CT and/or Fluoroscopy under the direct supervision of the Radiologist.Exhibits competency in performing and filming angiographic and CT radiographic procedures.Deviates from routines when the patients condition requires it or at the request of the radiologist.Knowledgeable of catheters guidewires and sterile trays and prepares these items as necessary.Obtains and documents accurate pre and post procedure information as applicable.Follow JCAHO patient safety goals.Maintains quality care throughout the procedure.Practices radiation protection through shielding whenever possible.Demonstrates a practical problem solving approach to patient moving and handling issues.Demonstrates skills to promote patient and staff safety through appropriate use of lift equipment.Performs patient bedside lab testing and associated quality control in compliance with medical provider s orders and hospital lab procedures and policies
