Job Description
Location: Remote (Must reside in Texas)
Overview: The Technical Writer will collaborate with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) team to create clear comprehensive technical documentation for the Texas Air Emissions Repository (TexAER) database. The role requires effective communication with individuals at various technical skill levels and providing support and testing for documentation.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience:
- 10 years (Required): Experience in web page user interface design developing enduser documentation for complex relational databases and excellent written and verbal communication skills with individuals across different technical levels.
- 5 years (Preferred): Knowledge of computer system limitations and capabilities integration with business processes and skills in producing technical documents for both technical and nontechnical audiences. Experience in data analysis and interpretation is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Create detailed program and enduser documentation including tutorials user guides troubleshooting manuals and reference materials ensuring clarity and consistency.
- Collect and incorporate feedback from TCEQ staff to improve documentation following directions from supervisors.
- Produce video tutorials adhering to TCEQ Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR) and World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) standards.
