We are seeking a skilled Sr. Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join the Administrative Applications Production Data Services team. This contractor role will focus on developing and implementing enhancements to the Financial Data Warehouse. The candidate will handle advanced database development tasks for complex applications involving intricate data models workflows and reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop modify and maintain Oracle databases including entering codes to create and manage production databases.
- Monitor database performance manage memory distribution and ensure the smooth functioning of systems.
- Collaborate with programmers and analysts to refine database management systems and correct programs as necessary.
- Evaluate and resolve user requests for new data elements incorporating them into the shared data environment while ensuring data integrity.
- Perform logical and physical data modeling design relational database models and create physical models from logical designs.
- Tune database performance to enhance processing efficiency and maintain data integrity.
- Implement database security measures disaster recovery procedures and data recovery processes.
- Create and maintain test environments necessary libraries and procedures for application development.
- Assist in the installation and configuration of database software perform benchmarking and conduct threshold testing.
- Ensure compliance with EIR accessibility standards for user interfaces supporting users with accessibility challenges.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 10 years of experience in Oracle database design analysis and performance tuning.
- 10 years of experience with Oracle database structures and data analysis.
- 10 years of experience in designing enterprise applications and services.
- 10 years of experience creating technical and functional design documentation.
- 10 years of experience with Agile software development methodologies (e.g. Scrum).
- 6 years of experience in multitier system/application development (e.g. SOA Microservices 3Tier applications).
- Working knowledge of EIR Accessibility standards and assistive technologies.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- 1 year of experience with Jira.
- Oracle Certification.
- Experience with data warehouse applications and databases.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Develop new views tables and PL/SQL code for the Financial Data Warehouse application.
- Optimize database performance during and after migration addressing performance bottlenecks and implementing monitoring solutions.
- Work on the design development and testing of new tables views PL/SQL stored procedures functions and loaders.
- Develop and test Linux shell scripts to invoke database calls scheduled jobs and shell scripts.
- Perform tuning on new and existing database elements including tables views and PL/SQL code.
This role is critical to ensuring the smooth operation and continuous improvement of database systems providing technical expertise and driving efficiency improvements across the organization.
