Business Data Analyst
Job Location: Plano TX (Candidate need to work as per EST time zone)
Job Mode(Onsite/Contract/Hybrid) : Remote
Contract
Mandatory skills: Data Analytics Databricks architecture Unity Catalog Collibra data catalogue and data governance modules
Role Overview:
- This role will be responsible for translating business needs into technical requirements managing logical data models and working closely with ingestion and curation teams. This role requires a deep understanding of:
- Logical data modeling
- Complex metadata management
- Developing managing and aligning technical data requirements
- Data curation
- Data governance
About the role:
- Collaborate with business leaders to define requirements and priorities and to proactively understand and update metric logic and definition
- Develop technical requirements (e.g. aggregation level granularity) based on metrics established by business teams
- Design logical data model and orchestration requirements
- Own and manage logical data model for the Enterprise Analytics team in tandem with ingestion and curation leads
- Oversee data catalog entries and enforce data cataloging rules
- Manage access controls for end data products
- Manage change requests to the structure definitions and/or security of identified data objects
- Communicate with the Business Data System Owner and Business Data Steward on metric updates
- Act as escalation point for Data Quality Analysts when defined processes are insufficient to resolve issues
About you:
Hold a Bachelors degree in computer science engineering statistics economics or MBA
- Bring 3 years of experience in data engineering or data analysis
- Have handson experience with and understanding of the following:
- SQL
- Python or other programming language
- Databricks or other cloud data management platform
- Technical and business data cataloging
- Logical data modeling including experience designing logical data models
- ETL/ELT tools such as Apache Airflow
- Data dictionary development
- Bring proven experience in data management requirements management and metadata management
