Senior GCP Cloud Architect
Location: Minneapolis MN(Preferred) Candidate from nearby states is fine but should be happy to travel at their own expense when called in office.

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Senior GCP Cloud Architect Consultant to lead the strategic design and migration of onpremise applications to Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role will advise on and set the GCP deployment strategy working closely with implementation teams to assess current infrastructures recommend cloudbased solutions and ensure successful implementation of both commercial oHtheshelf (COTS) and homegrown applications in Google Cloud. The consultant will serve as a trusted advisor collaborating with stakeholders to ensure that the GCP architecture aligns with business objectives while maintaining high standards for security scalability and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Cloud Strategy Development: Collaborate with development security and platform teams to assess existing onpremise infrastructure and develop comprehensive GCP deployment strategies tailored to the clients needs.
Technical Advisory: Provide technical leadership and advisory to implementation teams during the migration of applications to GCP ensuring best practices are followed.
Solution Design: Architect secure scalable and costeHicient cloud solutions using GCP services (such as Google Compute Engine Google Kubernetes Engine Cloud SQL/AlloyDB Google Cloud Storage VPC Cloud Armor) ensuring that they meet technical security and business requirements.
Documentation & Knowledge Transfer: Create and maintain cloud architecture documentation policies and procedures such as security policies disaster recovery plans and architecture templates. Provide training and knowledge transfer to technical teams to ensure they can manage and optimize the environment post deployment. Store these in a versioncontrolled publicly available repository. Issue Resolution & Support: Act as a point of escalation for troubleshooting complex cloudrelated issues collaborating with client technical teams to ensure high availability and dependability of the GCP environment.
Prototyping & CloudNative Design: Work with product teams to prototype ideas and design cloudnative architectures for future application development in GCP. Ensure compliance with golden paths to enhance reusability.
Client Alignment: Ensure that GCP solutions align with organizational objectives integrating business and technical requirements into the overall architecture.
Job Skills:
Cloud Architecture Expertise: Demonstrated experience as a Cloud Architect with a strong understanding of cloudbased technologies and GCP services including compute networking storage and security. Experience with regulated industries and/or Higher Education is a plus.
Migration Experience: Extensive experience migrating onpremise applications to public cloud platforms particularly GCP.
Serverless & CloudNative Design: Experience with serverless architectures and cloudnative application design leveraging GCP services like Cloud Functions App Engine and Kubernetes.
DevSecOps & Agile Methodologies: Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and Agile frameworks enabling seamless and secure cloud service deployment. Experience with platform orchestration engines (Humanitec) is preferred.
Advisory & Collaboration Skills: Strong consulting and advisory skills with the ability to work directly with technical and business teams to align cloud strategies with business goals.
ProblemSolving: Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities capable of resolving complex cloudrelated issues.
Communication: Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to present complex technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders.
Multitasking: Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining highquality output.
Work Experience:
Minimum of 8 years of experience in cloud architecture and public cloud infrastructure with at least 2 years focused on Google Cloud.
Previous experience working in consulting roles advising clients on cloud migration strategies and solutions.
Experience working with product engineering teams is a plus.
