As a Restaurant Supervisor, you will be responsible for training staff, ensuring they complete daily activities, and providing excellent customer service. Your duties will include expediting diner’s orders, handling complaints, monitoring supplies, liaising with suppliers, and ensuring health and safety.
Restaurant Supervisor Duties
Interviewing candidates and training new staff.
Creating work schedules and rotas.
Ensuring food safety and compliance with regulations.
Checking that diners are satisfied with their meal and service.
Handling service issues and customer complaints.
Monitoring cash and transactions and preparing daily bank remittances.
. Team Leadership
Staff Coordination: Assist in supervising and coordinating restaurant staff, including servers, kitchen staff, and host/hostess.
Training: Help train new employees on restaurant procedures, service standards, and safety protocols.
2. Customer Service
Guest Interaction: Greet and assist guests, ensuring a positive dining experience.
Issue Resolution: Address customer complaints or concerns promptly and professionally.
3. Operations Management
Shift Supervision: Oversee daily operations during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth service and adherence to standards.
Inventory Management: Assist in monitoring inventory levels, ordering supplies, and maintaining stock levels.
4. Quality Control
Standards Enforcement: Ensure that food quality, presentation, and service standards are consistently met.
Health and Safety Compliance: Monitor compliance with health and safety regulations, ensuring cleanliness and sanitation throughout the restaurant.
5. Financial Responsibilities
Cash Handling: Assist with cash register operations, including processing payments and managing cash drawers.
Reporting: Help prepare daily sales reports and other financial documentation as required.
6. Communication
Team Meetings: Participate in staff meetings to discuss goals, performance, and updates.
Coordination: Facilitate communication between kitchen and service staff to ensure timely service.
7. Customer Engagement
Promotions and Events: Assist in planning and executing special events, promotions, and menu changes.
Feedback Collection: Gather customer feedback to improve service and dining experiences.
Hotel Management Diploma/ Bachelor’s degree
Minimum 2+ years experience
Experience
Work Experience: Some prior experience in a restaurant or food service environment, ideally in a supervisory or leadership role.
Customer Service: Experience in a customer-facing role with a strong emphasis on service quality.
