Job Description

Job Title: Certified Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Tech (Allied)

Location: Rochester NY 14617

Guaranteed Hours: 40

Duration: 13 Weeks Contract

Shift: 10hr Day

Pay Rate: $55/hr

Job Summary:
  • NBSTSA Certification REQUIRED Must be certified!
  • Shift: 10hour Days (Please be sure your candidate is agreeable to the shift posted)
  • Cardiac experience required! This is a CV OR Tech position.
  • *Must be able to perform Open Heart Surgery*
  • Must be competent in CT surgery but thoracic is preferred Please only submit if candidate is strong in this area.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Preoperative Duties:

    • Prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments equipment and sterile drapes.
    • Ensure all necessary supplies and equipment are available and functioning properly.
    • Verify patient identity and surgical procedure with the surgical team.
    • Assist in positioning the patient on the operating table.
  • Intraoperative Duties:

    • Pass instruments and supplies to the surgeon during the procedure.
    • Maintain a sterile environment and monitor for any breaches in sterile technique.
    • Operate and troubleshoot surgical equipment as needed.
    • Assist with hemostasis suturing and wound closure as directed by the surgeon.
    • Monitor and document the surgical procedure including times and materials used.
  • Postoperative Duties:

    • Assist in transferring the patient to the recovery room.
    • Clean and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment.
    • Restock the operating room for future procedures.
    • Participate in debriefings and provide feedback to improve surgical procedures and patient care.
  • Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of surgical instruments procedures and aseptic techniques.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
    • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fastpaced environment.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
