Job Description

Position: Manufacturing Maintenance Manager Plant Engineer
Location: West Chicago IL
Job Type: Permanent (Fulltime)
Relocation Package: Full

Job Description:

Reporting to the Plant Manager the Maintenance Manager/Plant Engineer is responsible for maximizing the reliability of plant equipment by supporting the Company Performance System (SPS) Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and leading the Maintenance Excellence process within the plant.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure employee safety by leading a comprehensive safety process to prevent injuries and ensure compliance with federal state and local safety regulations.
  • Implement and maintain a reliabilitycentered maintenance process to enhance machine uptime improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and reduce operational costs.
  • Lead the maintenance team to maintain the highest standards of plant conditions and equipment performance.
  • Ensure that maintenance personnel possess the necessary skills and provide training for their development.
  • Manage capital projects participate in annual plant budgeting and control department expenditures.
  • Use reliability tools to determine the root cause of equipment failures and apply solutions to improve reliability.
  • Act as a key member of the plant leadership team driving continuous improvement and meeting performance standards.
  • Support pillar continuous improvement activities in the plant.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in leading a plant maintenance department in an industrial manufacturing environment or 5 years of supervisory manufacturing experience.
  • Education: Bachelors degree in Industrial Maintenance Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA requirements and ability to implement safety measures.
  • Ability to lead and develop a collaborative and effective team.
  • Proficiency in Root Cause Analysis techniques (FMEA 5 Whys ATS etc.) and developing solutions.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical electrical hydraulic instrumentation lubrication and predictive maintenance.
  • Strong project management organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Experience in TPM or the reliability field is preferred.
MustHaves:
  • Supervisory manufacturing experience.
  • Experience managing a manufacturing maintenance department.
  • Engineering degree in Mechanical Chemical or Industrial Engineering.
  • At least 3 years of experience leading a plant maintenance department in an industrial manufacturing environment.
NicetoHaves:
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations.
  • Experience with CMMS.
  • Strong communication skills.
