Roles and responsibilities
Design Development
- Concept Design: Create initial design concepts based on project requirements and specifications, using sketches, models, or CAD software.
- Technical Drawings: Produce detailed technical drawings and specifications for products, systems, or structures, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
Analysis and Testing
- Simulation and Analysis: Use simulation tools and software to analyze designs for functionality, performance, and safety, identifying potential issues early in the design process.
- Prototype Development: Collaborate with teams to create prototypes, conducting tests to validate designs and make necessary adjustments based on feedback.
Collaboration and Communication
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to ensure designs meet project goals and requirements.
- Client Interaction: Engage with clients to understand their needs and provide updates on design progress, incorporating feedback into the design process.
Documentation and Compliance
- Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of design processes, changes, and specifications, ensuring clarity and traceability.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that designs comply with relevant regulations, industry standards, and best practices in engineering.
Project Management
- Timeline Management: Assist in managing project timelines and deliverables, ensuring that design work is completed on schedule.
- Cost Estimation: Participate in estimating costs associated with design and production, considering materials, labor, and overhead.
Continuous Improvement
- Design Optimization: Identify opportunities for design improvements, efficiency enhancements, and cost reductions, implementing best practices and innovative solutions.
- Staying Updated: Keep abreast of industry trends, new technologies, and advancements in design methodologies to enhance skills and contribute to innovative projects.
Additional Responsibilities
- Training and Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to junior engineers and interns, sharing knowledge and fostering professional development.
- Technical Support: Offer technical support to production teams during the manufacturing process, addressing any design-related issues that arise.
Desired candidate profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- 1 - 3 years of experience in design engineering
- Experience with fit-out projects is preferred; however, candidates with experience in related fields are also encouraged to apply.
- Proficiency in design softwares
- Strong knowledge of building codes, standards, and regulations related to fit-out projects.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficient in both English and Arabic
- Priority will be given to candidates who are locally available, preferably those from Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, and Palestine. We are also open to considering overseas candidates, though Syrians and Palestinians are excluded due to visa restrictions.
