Job: Network Engineer 3
Location : Suffolk VA ONSITE
Duration: 12 Months
***Need to drive a state vehicle MUST have and maintain a clean driving record***
***Candidate Must live within a 60mile radius of Suffolk VA***
***This role requires travel to a number of other DOC facilities (locations about 1.5 hr from the Main facility with 10 min drive between them) as part of the job and a state vehicle will be provided***

St. Brides Correctional Center > 701 Sanderson Rd Chesapeake VA 23322
- The other two locations they cover would depend on where the candidate is located.
- State Vehicle provided to travel to DOC facilities once the candidate is fully onboarded and starts delivering consistently we can be flexible to have their home office be updated to the Vehicle location / vehicle base point where the state vehicle can be parked when not in use.
- At least 3 days at facilities could be more depending on items going on during the week. Normally its 3 days at facilities but sometimes during roll outs or critical priorities could be more than 3 days
- No overnights normally except in case of a critical emergency.
- Generally between 45 minutes to 1 hours 45 mins or so between facilities now Indian creek and St Brides above are next to each other aka 5 7 mins or drive at the max bt facilities.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Field Technology Services team is seeking someone with strong technical skills to manage maintain troubleshoot repair and update software hardware and networking as necessary to support the Client education programs & operations efforts for DOC sites and facilities.
Field Technology Specialist provides technical advice guidance and implementation of complex work items involving educational and DOC Operations software products such as AZTEC Lexis Nexis GED Academy Auto CAD Teknimedia Alexandria Elevate and similar software packages. Provides technical support of complex work problems involving computer technology to include workstation and server hardware software and operating systems networking hardware software and infrastructure and various operating systems software. Responsibilities include independently installing updating and management of applications and hardware at the assigned facilities.
All candidates must be comfortable going onsite to DOC facilities. This person will be working within the Field Technology team so they will be required to travel to different sites. Will do our best to allow remote work when possible but the nature of the work requires an onsite resource.
Work experience in the computer support field. A combination of desktop server & network support is required within a fastpaced delivery oriented agile environment.
This position must be able to perform with minimal direct supervision and may be required to use their home as a base of operation. Significant travel (usually day trips) may be required.
Windows operating systems such as Win10 Server 2016/2019/2022.
