Job Description
Location: Canberra
Requirement: minimum BASELINE security clearance
Key duties may include but are not limited to:
Providing technical expertise to projects and business areas and leading the technical deliverables;
Undertaking a range of activities in support of the management and operation of the Departments secure Internet gateway secure systems data centre and network services;
Undertaking a range of activities in support of the management and operation of the Departments secure Internet gateway secure systems data centre and network services;
Liaising with external and internal service providers as required;
Day to day monitoring and support of network and gateway systems including Data Centre technologies SMTP email systemsSSL Gateways Load Balancers Proxy systems Firewalls and IPS;
Implementing major/minor project work to support Departmental initiatives;
Undertaking enhancement and remediation activities across network and gateway systems.
Requirements
Mandatory Requirements:
- Minimum 35 years demonstrated experience as a Network & Security Gateway Engineer;
- Ability to work within a structured IT governance framework and deliver results that adhere to relevant Commonwealth standards and policies.
- High level of management skills including the ability to lead and plan to produce high standard of results on budget and within tight timeframes.
- Welldeveloped stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills both written and verbal with ability to negotiate outcomes as required.
- Taking ownership of designs and transition plans while engaging with ICT operational teams to coordinate implementation activities assisting in the resolution of technical issues as they arise.
- Maintains a high level of professionalism has sound judgement and decisionmaking skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and is highly motivated.
- Demonstrated analytical background and experience in Agile methodology
Highly Desirable Criteria:
- Demonstrated experience in implementing IT solutions for large highly integrated government or similar scale private organisations.
- Knowledge of Cloud/Security/Automation technologies
- A solid understanding of gateway and ICT security technologies
