The Assistant Chief Engineer is responsible for overseeing the hotels engineering and maintenance operations to ensure a safe comfortable and wellmaintained environment for guests and staff. This role involves planning project management budgeting and leading a team of skilled professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership
- Provide the guides and leadership to the engineering and maintenance team.
- Develop and implement departmental policies procedures and standards.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
Project Management
- Oversee and manage renovation projects within the hotel.
- Involve in and Develop and manage budgets for engineering and maintenance projects.
Maintenance and Repairs
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for all equipment and facilities.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
- Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs.
Quality Assurance
- Ensure that the hotel meets or exceeds all safety and environmental regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify areas requiring maintenance or improvement.
Energy Management
- Implement energyefficient practices to reduce operational costs.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies for energy conservation.
Staff Development
- Recruit train and supervise engineering and maintenance staff.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
- Develop training programs to enhance the skills of the team.
Budget Management
- Prepare and manage the departmental budget.
- Control costs while maintaining highquality standards.
Collaboration
- Work closely with other departments to ensure seamless hotel operations.
- Collaborate with the purchasing department to source materials and equipment.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in engineering.
- Proven experience in a similar role within the luxury hospitality industry.
- Strong leadership and managerial skills.
- Excellent problemsolving abilities.
- Knowledge of building systems codes H&S and regulations.
- Familiarity with energy management practices.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
