About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Design Technology teacher to join our dynamic department. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in igniting a passion for design and problemsolving in students equipping them with valuable technical skills and fostering creative thinking.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan deliver and evaluate engaging and stimulating Design Technology lessons across the curriculum catering to Key Stage 3 (Years 78) and potentially Key Stage 4 (Years 911) in line with the National Curriculum.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and ensure all students can develop their design and practical skills effectively (planning construction using a variety of materials and tools).
- Encourage creativity and problemsolving skills fostering a culture of experimentation and innovation in the design process.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the Design Technology curriculum ensuring it aligns with the schools vision national requirements and the latest advancements in design education (e.g. integrating technology sustainability principles).
The Ideal Candidate:
- A qualified Design Technology teacher with a demonstrable track record of success in engaging students and developing their design and practical skills.
- Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring a love of design and problemsolving in students of all abilities.
- Strong pedagogical skills and the ability to deliver innovative and effective lessons that cater to diverse learning styles.
- A commitment to high standards and the ability to create a positive stimulating and safe learning environment in the workshop.
- Excellent communication interpersonal and collaboration skills.
