Job Description
Job Title: Structural Engineer
Location: Houston TX
Pay Range: $90K$135K (commensurate with experience and qualifications)
We are currently seeking a Licensed Structural Engineer to join our Houston office. This position offers the opportunity to utilize your leadership skills and advance your career in a dynamic environment.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide structural design for both commercial and residential projects.
- Perform structural wood steel and reinforced concrete calculations for building components such as slabs spread footings and retaining walls.
- Interpret and apply national codes and standards including IRC IBC ASCE7 ACI and AISC.
- Stay updated on new engineering techniques processes and standards (IMS).
- Ensure effective methods and design/engineering techniques are used on all projects.
- Resolve project issues and provide technical guidance to colleagues.
- Contribute to a team environment through cooperative and supportive efforts.
- Work autonomously with minimal supervision.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
- Strong working knowledge of design codes (IRC IBC ASCE7 ACI AISC).
- Licensed PE in Texas.
- Proficiency in using analytical software AutoCAD RISA and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with clients and project team members.
- Ability to multitask and adapt to changing work assignments quickly.
Education & Experience:
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
- 7 years of experience in both residential and commercial engineering.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Certificates & Licenses:
- State of Texas Structural Engineer License required.
