Position Overview:
As a Crisis Therapist you will provide crisis intervention and intensive case management services to adults aged 18 and older with serious mental illnesses and/or cooccurring substance use disorders. You will work with clients at risk for psychiatric hospitalization those already admitted to psychiatric facilities or individuals with a high risk of readmission. You will conduct comprehensive assessments deescalate crises and coordinate access to treatment and support services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough screenings and assessments to identify the needs and service preferences of clients.
- Provide crisis intervention safety planning and facilitate client engagement in treatment and recovery services.
- Deescalate immediate crises and prevent the need for higher levels of care.
- Coordinate with treatment team members service providers and community organizations to ensure access to necessary services benefits and entitlements.
- Provide intensive case management including aftercare planning community outreach and transportation assistance.
- Respond immediately to crisis calls during scheduled oncall hours and conduct telehealth screenings as needed.
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with local providers and participate in clinical supervision team meetings and case consultations.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all service activities and phone contacts.
- Assist in crisis and safety planning and ensure compliance with The Guidance Centers policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Masters degree in Social Work Psychology or Counseling.
- State of Michigan licensure or eligibility for licensure within 60 days (LLMSW LLPC TLLP LMSW LPC or LLP).
- Valid drivers license and Michigan Chauffeur License within 30 days of employment.
- Ability to engage adults with serious mental illness and/or substance use disorders and provide traumainformed care.
- Experience with crisis intervention and working with adults in psychiatric or emergency settings.
- Candidates must obtain the Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) and Substance Abuse Treatment Specialist (SATS) credentials within 120 days of hire.
- CAADC credential or enrollment in an MCBAP certification Development Plan within six weeks of hire.
- Must have a nonjudgmental approach cultural competency and sensitivity to the unique needs of diverse populations.

Working Hours:
Monday to Thursday: 8:30 AM 7 PM
Friday: 8:30 AM 5 PM
Some evening and weekend hours may be required.
Travel:
Mileage reimbursement will be provided for travel using personal vehicles.
