Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in Patient Rehabilitation: Work closely with Occupational Therapists (OTs) to help residents recover and improve their daily living skills.
- Provide HandsOn Therapy: Deliver therapeutic treatments in accordance with individualized care plans focusing on improving strength mobility and functionality.
- Track Progress: Document patient outcomes and report to OTs and the interdisciplinary team to ensure care plans are adjusted as needed.
- Collaborate with Care Teams: Coordinate with other healthcare providers ensuring a holistic approach to patient rehabilitation and care.
- Support Patients and Families: Educate residents and their families on exercises and adaptive techniques to help maintain progress and quality of life outside the therapy setting.
Key Requirements:
- Experience: At least 1 year of Occupational Therapy Assistant experience is required with specific experience in LongTerm Care (LTC) or rehabilitation settings.
- Licensure: Must have an active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license.
- Skills: Strong clinical communication and organizational skills. Ability to work independently while supporting the larger rehabilitation team.
