You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe ideal candidate will be responsible for review of schemes and relay settings of protection systems up to 400kV substation networks. The candidate should have a strong understanding of all the Protection philosophies such as Single Line diagrams, Protection Logic, CT/VT calculations, Interlocking schemes, Transformer, Reactor, GIS, SWGR’s, LVAC/LVDC Systems, Battery/Charger and UPS, Relay settings, Protection coordination, SCADA control systems , and power system studies etc. The candidates having Qatar Transmission/Distribution network experience would be considered as an added qualification.
Responsibilities
Familiar with all the Protection philosophies up to 400kV systems.
Review and approval of schematic drawing and relay setting of various manufacturer including GE/ABB/SIEMENS/SEL etc and SAT /FAT documents.
Coordination between client and contractor regarding protection related matters.
Should be at Team member and collaborate with professional engineering teams to ensure proper functioning of protection systems.
Provide technical support and expertise as needed.
1. Design and Implementation
Design protective relay schemes and select appropriate protection devices for electrical systems.
Develop and implement protection system strategies to ensure equipment and personnel safety.
2. System Analysis
Conduct system studies, including short-circuit analysis, relay coordination, and arc flash analysis.
Evaluate the performance of protection systems and recommend improvements or upgrades.
3. Testing and Commissioning
Perform testing and commissioning of protection relays and devices to ensure they function correctly under fault conditions.
Develop and execute test plans and procedures for protection systems.
4. Troubleshooting
Diagnose and resolve issues related to protection equipment and systems.
Analyze fault records and event logs to determine the cause of outages and system failures.
