Roles and responsibilities

The Cybersecurity Analyst plays a critical role in safeguarding the organization's data, systems, and networks against cyber threats. This position involves actively monitoring, detecting, and responding to potential security incidents to maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information within the organization.

In this role, the analyst will work to minimize the impact of security incidents by managing the complete incident response lifecycle, from initial detection to resolution. The analyst will also proactively identify weaknesses in the organization's defenses, helping to enhance security practices through the identification of trends and vulnerabilities. Collaboration with IT and security teams is essential to strengthen the overall security posture of the organization. This position is key to the continuous improvement of the organization’s cybersecurity resilience.

Key Responsibilities

The Cybersecurity Analyst will be tasked with various responsibilities, including but not limited to:

• Incident Monitoring and Response: Actively monitor for security incidents and perform triage, investigation, mitigation, and post-incident reviews.
• Threat Analysis: Analyze logs, traffic data, and endpoint indicators to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
• Proactive Threat Hunting: Engage in proactive threat hunting to uncover potential security incidents within the environment.
• Reporting and Analysis: Provide detailed reports and analyses on threat trends and emerging cyber risks.
• SIEM Development: Support the development and tuning of Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) rules, alerts, and dashboards to enhance threat detection capabilities.
• Incident Response Improvement: Maintain and improve incident response playbooks and procedures.

Desired candidate profile

Desired Qualifications

To excel as a Cybersecurity Analyst, candidates should possess the following skills and qualifications:

• Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience: 3-5 years in a cybersecurity-focused role, with a significant emphasis on threat management or incident response.
• Certifications: One or more relevant certifications, such as GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+), or GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIA).
• Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of threat detection and incident response tools, including SIEM, Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), and Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS).
• Scripting Skills: Familiarity with scripting or automation tools like Python, PowerShell, or Bash to streamline security processes.

This remote position is based in the EMEA/APAC region and reports to the Manager of Cybersecurity Detection and Incident Response.
