Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

AL Solutions are looking for a highly skilled Senior or Principal Statistical Programmer to join a global, fast-paced organization committed to delivering innovative solutions in the clinical research space. This position offers the opportunity to play a critical role in supporting statistical programming activities across a range of clinical trials, ensuring quality and timely deliverables for clients worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the programming aspects of clinical trials, including the development of datasets (SDTM, ADaM) and statistical outputs (tables, listings, and figures).
  • Provide technical expertise and leadership in developing and validating SAS programs in support of clinical trial analysis.
  • Collaborate with biostatisticians, data managers, and other key stakeholders to deliver high-quality statistical outputs in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards (CDISC), company SOPs, and regulatory guidelines throughout all stages of clinical trial programming.
  • Mentor and guide junior programmers, offering technical support and fostering a collaborative working environment.
  • Oversee the successful delivery of programming deliverables on multiple projects, ensuring timelines are met while maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality.
  • Participate in the development of programming tools and processes to optimize efficiency and quality.

Desired candidate profile

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • A minimum of 5 years of statistical programming experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or CRO industry.
  • Advanced SAS programming skills and experience with clinical data standards (CDISC, SDTM, ADaM).
  • Strong understanding of statistical principles, clinical trial design, and regulatory submission requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail and a proactive approach to troubleshooting.
  • Experience in leading programming teams and managing project deliverables.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
