Greeting welcoming and escorting guests to tables in the restaurant. Maintaining a friendly courteous and efficient operation of the dining room to ensure guest satisfaction and manageable flow of service. The Host is the first and last impression of the restaurant therefore it is imperative the interactions with both internal and external guests are positive at all times.
- Consistently offer professional friendly and engaging service
- Interact with arriving and departing guests
- Answer the phone using company standards and etiquette
- Take record and confirm with accuracy restaurant reservations in accordance with the reservation guidelines
- Use the Open Table system to input bookings and track Guest progress throughout the meal service periods
- Use clear and concise communication with the assistants servers bartenders and the managers regarding the needs of the guests
- Escort guests to the appropriate table in the dining room
- Act as point of contact between guests and leadership
- Engage and interact with guests to create a friendly attentive and memorable dining experience
- Tailor guest experience
- Be familiar with all menu items and aspects and services of the property
- Assist in cleaning clearing and setting tables
- Maintain cleanliness of the restaurant
- Be familiar with all food outlets and amenities within the property
- May assist with inventory and requisition forms
- Be knowledgeable of general city information as well as hotel history
- Be an ambassador for the department the property and the brand
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications :
- Must have excellent communication skills and be very organized
- Must have calm and warm manner
- Must be able to work under pressure and unsupervised
- Preferred previous customer service experience required preferably in upscale setting
- Previous experience as a host an asset
- Must pass Food Beverage and Service Knowledge Quizzes
- Able to speak English clearly at advanced level
- Able to read and write English
- Able to communicate clearly and listen attentively to management guests and fellow employees
- Able to make good decisions where guests and coworkers are concerned
- Demonstrate good judgment
- Must be able to obtain Food Handler Certification
- Must be able to obtain TIPs or Alcohol Safety Certification
- Able to work flexible hours weekends and holidays
