Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer with expertise in metal fabrication and structural analysis. This role involves designing components and subassemblies using sound design principles interpreting complex engineering specifications and improving manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of mechanical analysis and the ability to generate accurate detailed drawings and BOMs (Bill of Materials).
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret complex engineering specifications and design components and subassemblies
- Develop layout concepts and perform engineering calculations for custom product designs
- Create detailed mechanical drawings and BOMs using SolidEdge (or similar software)
- Support the manufacturing process with technical guidance and troubleshooting
- Conduct structural and mechanical analysis to improve product design and processes
- Specify parts and materials for manufacturing
- Assist with improving manufacturing efficiency
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 5 years of mechanical engineering experience in production preferably in metal fabrication
- Proficient in SolidEdge (preferred) or similar software like SolidWorks or Inventor
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and structural design principles
- Experience with MS Word Excel and Outlook
- Bilingual in Spanish (preferred)
- Electrical knowledge is a plus
