Job Description

Early Years SEN Teacher Nurturing School in Lambeth

Were looking for an enthusiastic Early Years SEN Teacher to join our nursery in Lambeth. In this role you will help children with special educational needs take their first steps in learning within a supportive and creative setting.

Position: Early Years SEN Teacher
Type: Fulltime Permanent
Location: Lambeth London

Our nursery is dedicated to providing an inclusive and nurturing environment where all children can thrive. We focus on creating engaging and stimulating learning experiences that cater to the individual needs of each child especially those with special educational needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to meet the needs of children with special educational needs in the early years setting.
  • Create a warm and welcoming classroom environment that promotes exploration and creativity.
  • Collaborate with parents carers and support staff to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for children.
  • Monitor and assess student progress providing feedback to parents and colleagues on individual development.
  • Foster positive relationships with children encouraging their social and emotional growth alongside academic learning.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in early years education and SEN.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching in Early Years settings particularly with children who have special educational needs.
  • Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and effective teaching strategies for SEN.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with children families and colleagues.
  • A patient compassionate and creative approach to teaching.
  • A DBS check is required.
