SUMMARY
The main responsibilities of the Extrusion Operator is to ensure all operating lines are producing a quality board using a sample stick as a reference testing flatness texture and color.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Ensure end of line units are stacking properly
- Ensure full units are ratchet strapped and then moved to the end of the line for banding and pickup then drop a new skid to replace the one that was removed
- Ensure saw collection bags are emptied on all lines (Line 3 is completed during the day and required two people due to the vacuum function disengaging the saw from cutting)
- Ensure cold lengths are met with each line per profile (posted) cold length cannot be short error larger noting that a board will continue to shrink must meet cold length to plus
- Ensures all water tank reservoirs maintain an adequate level add water as needed
- Monitor and adjust the following standard parameters which are noted on the daily monitoring sheets for each running line to produce a good board:
- Record on a daily monitoring sheet all information as directed
- Cut s to lengths directed as time permits not allowing s to build up
- Will be required to perform housekeeping duties such as sweeping and shoveling up debris
- Removes standing water into the floor drain utilizing the squeegee ensuring a safe work area
- Ensures natural and fluff Gaylords are filled and do not run on a dry vacuum
- Replace regrind Gaylords as needed
- Maintain a neat and orderly mezzanine area ensure a safe and clean work area
- Monitor water system to ensure minimum 55degree water temperature adding water to reservoir as needed all the while not forgetting to turn off the inlet when adding water.
- Ensure spray nozzles are open and fee of debris
- At the end of the shift ensure an accurate piece count for each line and profile. Write pieces counted on the count sheets convert pieces counted to pounds and enter on the count sheets.
- Using making tape tape of the shift ending count ensure a fresh starting point for the next shift
- Empty catch buckets back into the line these buckets are used to catch dripping water from the line; this replenishes water and prevents standing water
- Interfaces with managers and peers to resolve issues
ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Standing and walking on concrete surfaces for the entire shifts.
- Requires standing sitting walking bending reaching stooping twisting bending pushing pulling frequently though out the work shift
- Required to frequently lift various weights throughout the work day up to 65 lbs. full units are on rollers but take substantial effort to push down roller when filled
- Ability to work in hot/cool work environment
- Ability to work in a noisy work environment
- Ability to work in dry/wet work environment
