The Junior Sous Chef oversees the culinary operations of the Raffles Cub. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the smooth functioning of the kitchen maintaining culinary excellence and delivering exceptional dining experiences to guests. The Junior Sous Chef is responsible for supervising and coordinating the kitchen staff assisting in menu planning and development ensuring quality control and upholding food safety and sanitation standards. By working closely with the senior culinary team the Junior Sous Chef contributes to the overall success of the Raffles Club upholds the hotels culinary standards and assists in creating memorable dining experiences for guests.
Qualifications :
- Culinary Education: A formal culinary education from an accredited culinary institute or a similar educational background is preferred. This can include a degree or diploma in Culinary Arts Food Service Management or a related field.
- Culinary Experience: Significant culinary experience is essential for this role. Candidates are expected to have several years of experience working in a professional kitchen preferably in a luxury hotel or highend restaurant environment. Experience in various culinary stations and exposure to different cuisines is advantageous.
- Technical Skills: Strong culinary skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques are required. This includes knowledge of food preparation cooking methods and presentation techniques. Familiarity with different cuisines including international and fusion cuisines is beneficial.
- Leadership and Management Abilities: Junior Sous Chefs are expected to possess leadership and management skills. Prior experience in a supervisory or junior management role where they have demonstrated the ability to lead and motivate a team delegate tasks and coordinate kitchen operations is advantageous.
- Menu Planning and Development: Experience or knowledge in menu planning and development is desirable. This includes an understanding of menu engineering recipe creation and an ability to contribute to the development of innovative and appealing menu offerings.
