Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Engineering responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Responsibilities

  • Consistently offer professional friendly and engaging service
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards
  • Able to maintain financial checkbook and accurately close month end
  • Handle Guest concerns and react quickly logging and notifying the proper areas
  • Maintain inventory and warehouse
  • Actively participate in daily briefing and department meetings
  • Ensure staff is informed daily about priorities in their section
  • Follow departmental policies and procedures
  • Report necessary maintenance items
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications :

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required.   • Proficient in English (verbal & written) essential
  • Able to communicate effectively to staff
  • Proven training skills
  • Experience with hotel Property Management System an asset 
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
  • Work well in stressful highpressure situations
  • Effective at listening to understanding and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by coworkers and Guest
  • Must be able to perform assigned duties with attention to detail speed accuracy followthrough courtesy cooperativeness and work well with limited supervision

Physical Demands

This position requires:

  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift
  • Occasional lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs
  • Occasional kneeling pushing pulling lifting
  • Occasional ascending or descending stairs and ramps

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum 2 year experience in a clerical capacity in a hotel Engineering environment
