▪ Ensure compliance with class and statutory regulations for vessels and Jack-up Barges, maintaining valid certifications.
▪ Coordinate with the crewing team regarding personnel issues, crew travel, and crew changes.
▪ Monitor compliance with training standards (STCW 95, MLC, etc.) and client-specific requirements.
▪ Inspect vessels' Planned Maintenance System to ensure proper operation in line with the Safety Management System (SMS) and ISM code.
▪ Ensure proper use of mandatory safety procedures (Toolbox talks, Risk assessments, etc.).
▪ Monitor and maintain necessary documents, publications, and operational manuals as required by regulatory bodies.
▪ Ensure adherence to IMCA guidelines and best industry practices for vessel DP operations.
▪ Conduct on-board inspections and provide training to officers and crew.
▪ Participate in internal and external audits, and conduct OVID inspections.
▪ Liaise with the design/drawing team for new positions of Jack-up barges and consult with Marine Warranty Surveyors (MWS) as needed.
Vessel Operations Management
Operational Oversight: Monitor and manage the day-to-day operations of vessels, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Crew Management: Oversee crew performance, ensuring that they adhere to operational procedures and safety standards.
Safety and Compliance
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all vessels comply with international, national, and company-specific maritime regulations and standards.
Safety Protocols: Implement and enforce safety protocols, conducting regular safety drills and inspections.
Maintenance and Repairs
Maintenance Schedules: Develop and oversee maintenance schedules for vessels, ensuring all equipment and systems are functioning properly.
Repairs Coordination: Coordinate necessary repairs and dry-docking activities, working closely with shipyards and service providers.
Ensure company-owned and managed vessels and Jack-up Barges comply with all statutory, legislative, and client requirements, particularly regarding ISM/ISPS codes and class regulations, while overseeing the efficient management of marine resources.
Minimum Requirements
▪ Unlimited Master Mariner's license (STCW II/2) or a degree in Maritime studies.
▪ Minimum 8-10 years of experience, with at least 3 years of shore experience as Port Captain or Marine Superintendent in an offshore company, handling Jack-up barges.
▪ Proficient in Microsoft systems and electronic management systems.
▪ Fluent in English (both written and spoken).
▪ Strong knowledge of marine practices and Jack-up barge operations.
Technical Skills
Project Management: Experience in managing maintenance projects, dry-docking, and repairs.
Data Analysis: Ability to analyze operational data and metrics to inform decision-making.
Soft Skills
Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills to guide and support crew members.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
