Job Description

Our client is seeking an Area Coordinator to join their Youth Mental Health Academy (YMHA) team. The Area Coordinator will be responsible for coordination of the YMHA which is being developed and operated through a contract from the State of California initially for a threeyear period beginning in 2023.

The Youth Mental Health Academy is a unique exciting multifaceted program with the goal of identifying underrepresented minority and disadvantaged high school students and helping them realize their potential to join the workforce with careers in mental health science and practice. High schoolaged participants in the Youth Mental Health Academy will be provided a range of workshops immersive mentoring and networking opportunities. To succeed at this goal will require creativity imagination and energy to build novel opportunities and services in California with the possibility of a very broad impact on and transforming child and adolescent mental health. In addition this position provides the opportunity to engage with a broad range of clinicians policymakers researchers and community leaders.

The Area Coordinator will participate in the daytoday coordination of their sites. They will have responsibility for communications with staff parents and students and the daytoday operations to ensure the success of the YMHA in their city. This includes planning operations and compliance with organizational policies.

Reporting to the Area Manager this is a nonexempt fulltime position based in the Bay Area California. This is a remote position with travel during the 5week summer program.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure needs of site personnel are met and communicated to the Area Manager and Associate Program Director.
  • Daily checkins with staff at each site and program staff to ensure the efficient operations of the program.
  • Be in direct contact with parents students teachers and other program staff and report urgent matters consistently.
  • Coordinate breaks and lunch program schedules.
  • Provide onsite support during the summer program and ensure site needs and supplies are met.
  • Travel to YMHA sites in the San Francisco area is required to oversee operations.
  • Ensure all organizational policies and procedures are being followed and staff are compliant with program requirements and goals.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year of project coordination/ administration experience.
  • High school diploma required bachelors degree in a relevant discipline preferred.
  • Prior experience with communityfocused and/or educational initiatives preferred.
  • Exceptional interpersonal written and verbal communication skills along with strong collaboration abilities.
  • Demonstrated management and organizationalskills.
  • Comfortable in a fastpaced environment and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities.
  • Able to share in morale building and group support to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Some understanding of financial and organizational management.

Special Considerations:

The anticipated salary range for this position is $50657$63322 annually.

The salary range for the position is posted. Factors such as candidates work experience education/training jobrelated skills internal peer equity as well as market and business considerations affect the salary offered within this range. In addition this salary may be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state and depending on the role) if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
