Currently we are partnered with a preferred client in the Government & Policy sector in search of a highly talented Junior DevOps Engineer to join their team of experts in building stateoftheart data platforms for the intelligence community.
Job Summary:
As a Junior DevOps Engineer you will participate in the programs Multicloud DevOps capability spanning AWS cloud environments cloud migration efforts and modernization of globally used applications including the Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) Pipeline. You will play a crucial role in integrating new and modernized programs into the NGA Mayhem DevOps pipelines and collaborate with team members in Agile software development initiatives.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Participate in Multicloud DevOps capabilities across AWS cloud environments
- Assist in cloud migration efforts and modernization of globally used applications
- Integrate new and modernized programs into NGA Mayhem DevOps pipelines
- Monitor and project application volumes using historical data and current events
- Notify management of volume trends and significant spikes
- Monitor website traffic and communicate datadriven recommendations
- Participate in Agile software development initiatives (standup planning Increment planning)
- Collaborate with team members to assess tickets and ensure proper testing and delivery of functionality
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Information Systems Information Technology Computer Science or a closely related discipline
- 2 years of prior relevant experience
- Active TS/SCI w/ CI Poly clearance (preferred) or Top Secret clearance and willingness to sit for a CI Poly
- Proficiency in AWS/Cloud technologies and OpenShift AWS hosting platforms
- Experience with software development or integration projects in serviceoriented or virtualization environments
- Understanding of DevOps methodologies and workflow
- Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (S3 Buckets EC2 Reserved Instances etc.)
- Experience with System Engineering documentation creation (VDDs diagrams etc.)
- Proficiency in team collaboration tools (Jira Confluence RocketChat)
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan and prioritize work
- Attention to detail and ability to follow tasks to their logical conclusion
- Proactive selfstarter with a positive willing attitude
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Understanding of cloudbased architectures
- Familiarity with crossdomain architectures at various levels (preferred)
- Experience with automated testing and monitoring (preferred)
- Knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker container strategies (preferred)
- Experience with Engineering Review Boards and Change Management (preferred)
