We are seeking a skilled PL/I Mainframe Assembler Developer to join our team. This role is pivotal in developing and maintaining applications within a mainframe environment, particularly for clients in the insurance sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain applications using PL/I and SQL (DB2) within the mainframe.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze and improve existing systems.
• Write and execute JCL (Job Control Language) scripts to manage batch jobs effectively.
• Utilize PL-SQL for database management and optimization.
• Work with messaging systems like MQ/ABSCom to ensure seamless data communication.
• Engage with Oracle databases and UNIX environments to support application development.
• Provide insights and suggestions based on insurance domain knowledge to enhance system functionalities.

Desired candidate profile

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in PL/I and SQL, particularly with DB2 databases.
• Solid experience with JCL, PL-SQL, and Oracle.
• Familiarity with messaging services such as MQ/ABSCom.
• Experience working in UNIX environments.
• Knowledge of the insurance industry is advantageous but not mandatory.
