Job Description
- We are seeking a Midlevel Transmission Planning Engineer for multiple office locations with remote work options available. Candidates can indicate their preferred location in the application. **Must work within USA preferably Texas
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead network studies for utilities and ISOs.
- Interface with engineers to prepare computerbased models.
- Conduct various power system studies: feasibility system impact reactive compensation stability planning short circuit load flow interconnection and power factor correction.
- Engage in proposal writing and customer interactions to develop new opportunities.
Required Education/Experience:
- BSEE degree.
- 5 years in transmission planning system studies.
- Must be able to lead system impact studies.
- Excellent English communication skills both written and verbal.
- 3 years with PSS/E.
- Project leadership and mentoring experience.
- Familiarity with ERCOT interconnection processes.
- Willingness to travel up to 10%.
Desired Education/Experience:
- MSEE or PhD.
- 5 years with PSS/E.
- 710 years in transmission planning studies.
- PE registration or equivalent.
- Experience with additional software: PSLF TARA PSCAD Aspen Oneliner ETAP Power World.
- Coding and automation skills.
