Makes investigations of contractual and construction problems that may arise on construction projects. Makes difficult engineering calculations and analysis in connection with mechanical design of utility systems and transportation facilities; supervise the preparation of detailed drawings for these facilities.
Our clientis seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team in London Kingston or Kitchener Ontario. As a technical leader you will oversee mechanical projects provide design strategies and mentor junior engineers. Key responsibilities include:
Reviewing and stamping mechanical projects of varying complexities
Leading design strategies and concept development
Providing technical leadership and mentoring to intermediate and junior engineers
Conducting audits feasibility assessments and investigations
Developing mechanical design standards and practices
Troubleshooting construction issues
Collaborating with clients contractors and other engineering disciplines
Conducting site visits and construction phase services
Qualifications
To succeed in this role you will need:
10 years of mechanical engineering experience in building services
Engineering license in Ontario with at least 5 years of Canadian experience
Design experience with central plant systems (hot water steam chilled water)
Knowledge of DDC control systems and sequencing
Familiarity with OBC ASHRAE CSA and ASPE standards
Experience in multiple industries (commercial industrial educational healthcare etc.)
Strong leadership communication and problemsolving skills
Ability to multitask and work under deadlines
