About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and supportive English department within a prestigious West London secondary school. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of confident communicators and critical thinkers fostering a love for literature and the power of language.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Delivery:
- Plan deliver and evaluate engaging and stimulating English lessons across the curriculum catering to Key Stage 3 (Years 78) and potentially Key Stage 4 (Years 911) in line with the National Curriculum.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and ensure all students can develop their literacy skills effectively (phonics reading comprehension writing fluency grammar vocabulary acquisition).
- Assessment and Evaluation:
- Design and implement effective assessment strategies to monitor student progress in reading writing speaking and listening skills (formative and summative assessments).
- Provide students with clear constructive feedback that helps them improve their writing reading and analytical skills (written feedback peer review selfassessment).
