Job Description

The Role:

Role Brief:

The Project Engineer is responsible for safely coordinating and leading projects associated with process improvements automation aseptic processing new processing equipment with some facility / utilities modifications.The primary responsibility of the role is to ensure that Projects meet their agreed goals/targets on time and on budget.

Core Tasks:

  • Provide Engineering services to the plant in order to maximise the availability ofall Site Process Equipment and Utilities.
  • Manage capital engineering projects
  • Support the engineering teams in controlling uptime of process equipment andoptimizing efficiencies both in equipment and process performance
  • Support the Engineering team with the emphasis on continual operationalimprovements and Technical support
  • Improve the operations and reliability of equipment and processes by the successful identification and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage the execution of projects within the engineering group including specificProcess Safety Projects.
  • Support the provision of process safety initiatives to the site
  • Liaise with Internal/External Engineering Personnel and contract maintenanceproviders in maintaining troubleshooting and installing/commissioning equipment.
  • Leadership of process equipment commissioning and validation activities
  • Identification and project management of continuous improvement projects.
  • Work closely with all site functions and other departments to deliver thesecontinuous improvement projects.
  • Preparation of feasibility studies and budget management for all assigned projects
  • Management and negotiation of external contracts and contractors.
  • Support all major site initiatives and sites core goals

Skills Brief:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role delivering projects in Pharma Life Science of Medical Device (GMP)manufacturing environments.
  • Must have demonstrated relevant site experience of one or more of the below:
    • API process equipment trains (reactors filter dryers pumps process pipeworkmilling containment technology gloveboxes downflow booths etc).
    • Drug Product equipment (tablet press roller compaction tablet coater materialhandling post hoists blenders milling Quadro Comils etc)
    • Cleanroom processing/utilities HVAC CIP systems Purified water generationand distribution systems etc.
  • Knowledgeable/competent with executing change control.
  • Experience in process engineering with relevant experience of batch processingautomation project management commissioning and validation equipment reliabilityand continuous improvement.
  • Working knowledge of distributed control systems such as Delta V.
  • Demonstrated project management skills including the ability to deliver projects onschedule within budget and meeting the predefined quality requirements.

Person Brief:

Candidates must have a level 8degree qualification with minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience in pharmaceutical biotechnology or medical device manufacturing environments. The ideal candidate will have excellent collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work in a fast paced dynamic environment. In addition to this strong attention to detail including the ability to proofread documents and to accurately translate customers requirements into meaningful enduser instructions consistently is required.

You should have a mix of strong and relevant technical skills and proven client and project management skills.

The candidate should be based in or near Sligo or the surrounding area and able to travel onsite to the site daily as this is an onsite role.
