Job Description

Roles and responsibilities


The primary focus of this role is to carry out dealership services on customer vehicles as per company standards and ensure optimum quality with increased productivity and technical efficiency, thereby individually contributing to generate workshop revenue without any repeat concerns.

What you will do:

  • Prompt execution of service repairs requested on the repair order as per schedule provided
  • Report additional job required in car with cost estimate
  • Maintain check sheets and log sheets
  • Upkeep tools and equipment in the individual bay as per company standards
  • Ensure zero repeat repairs
  • Proper diagnosis and trouble shooting
  • Conduct final inspection as per the standard operating procedures
  • Deliver the desired efficiency and productivity as per targets given
  • Ensure prompt punch in and punch out to get the accurate booking hours
  • Complete the training course/internal assessment and other on the job training as per the schedule provided by the Training Manager
  • Enroll and get certifications as per the principal’s guidelines
  • Ensure follow up of standard operating procedures in technician role
  • Ensure fire extinguishers are kept close by for immediate action in case of working with fuel systems
  • Use and maintain appropriate PPEs supplied
  • Report all incidents to the supervisor
  • Maintenance and Repairs:

    • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment.
    • Address mechanical failures promptly to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
  • Troubleshooting and Diagnostics:

    • Diagnose mechanical issues using tools and diagnostic equipment, analyzing problems to determine the best course of action.
    • Conduct tests and measurements to verify the functionality of mechanical systems.
  • Installation and Assembly:

    • Assist in the installation and assembly of mechanical systems and components, ensuring adherence to specifications and safety standards.
    • Follow engineering drawings and technical documentation during installation processes.
  • Documentation:

    • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used, providing detailed reports for future reference.
    • Update equipment logs and service histories to ensure compliance with maintenance schedules.
  • Safety Compliance:

    • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to create a safe working environment.
    • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe work practices during repairs and maintenance.
  • Collaboration:

    • Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and other technicians to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues.
    • Communicate effectively with team members regarding project status, equipment issues, and maintenance schedules.

What equips you for the role:

ITI/ Diploma or Engineering Qualification
2-3 years’ experience as a Technician with an Automotive dealership
Communication skills
Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including engines, pumps, HVAC systems, and machinery.
Diagnostic Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues effectively using various tools and techniques.
Repair Skills: Proficient in performing maintenance, repairs, and overhauls on mechanical systems and components.
Safety Awareness: Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations in a mechanical or industrial setting.
Personal Attributes:
Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to repairs and maintenance, ensuring high-quality workmanship.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to identify issues and develop effective solutions.
Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills for interacting with team members and supervisors.
Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and assist others as needed.
