Manage workflow and prioritize testing to ensure timely delivery of accurate results to internal and external stakeholders.
Ensure all laboratory activities comply with industry standards (ISO ASTM) and regulatory requirements.
Develop maintain and optimize protocols for chemical and physical testing of solid minerals.
Testing and Analysis:
Conduct and supervise the testing of solid minerals including elemental analysis (e.g. trace metals major oxides) and mineral composition.
Oversee the analysis of physical properties such as hardness density particle size distribution moisture content and specific gravity.
Ensure appropriate use of analytical techniques such as Xray fluorescence (XRF) inductively coupled plasma (ICP) atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS) and thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA).
Quality Assurance and Control:
Implement and monitor quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) processes to ensure consistency accuracy and repeatability of test results.
Collaborate with quality control teams to resolve discrepancies in test results and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Data Management and Reporting:
Ensure accurate recording and reporting of test results including comprehensive reports on mineral composition and physical properties.
Manage the laboratory s information management system (LIMS) to track samples testing results and performance trends.
Present findings and results to internal teams (e.g. geologists production managers) and external clients.
Health Safety and Environmental Compliance:
Ensure all operations comply with health safety and environmental regulations.
