Markt Ludwig Art Studios a premier art restoration company based in New York City has expanded to the Dallas area.
Due to our growth we are adding to our team and currently seeking a talented person who is interested in learning restoration and conservation techniques. The ideal Art Restoration Apprentice candidate will have/be a candidate for a degree in Fine Arts as well as a background in painting and a desire to become an Art Restorer. This is not a graphic arts position.
We work on a variety of items including paintings works on paper lithographs sculptures photographs taxidermy collectibles furniture and other items of sentimental value.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Catalog and assess items for restoration.
- Disassemble items to be restored.
- Clean and reassemble artwork.
- Order replacement items such as frames mats stretchers etc.
- Work closely with Art Restorers to provide support and learn the craft.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor or masters degrees in fine arts or a candidate for such degree
- Understanding in color matching principles
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; positive attitude
- Have framing and matting knowledge.
- Working knowledge of basic PC and Mac operations
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Be ethical respectful and understanding of our clients needs
- Photoshop experience a plus.
Work Components:
- The pay range is $16 to $20per hour depending on relevant experience.
- Benefits include flexible hours vacation and sick time.
- Nine holidays plus two floating holidays.
- The probationary period may last up to threemonths.
- Preemployment drug screen and a criminal background check required.
