The position entails a multifaceted approach to investment analysis, client engagement, and project management. A key responsibility is conducting thorough research and analysis on prospective markets and clients, identifying trends and opportunities that align with the organization's strategic goals. This involves sourcing new investment opportunities and performing comprehensive risk/return evaluations to ensure informed decision-making.
The role requires frequent interaction with prospective clients and investors, where building relationships is essential. Coordinating and assisting in due diligence efforts is critical, as this ensures that all relevant information is compiled and assessed accurately. The preparation of financial models is also a significant aspect, including conducting feasibility and pricing (valuation) exercises to ascertain the viability of potential investments.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Conducts research and analysis on prospective markets and clients.
2. Sources and performs risk/return evaluation of new investment opportunities.
3. Meets with prospective clients and investors.
4. Coordinates and assisting in due diligence efforts.
5. Develops financial models and undertaking feasibility and pricing (valuation) exercises.
6. Communicates with group business units to compile, review and integrate technical, operational, and commercial data to be used in tender and investment deliverables.
7. Prepares and submits bids and proposals and negotiating with clients.
8. Structures and arranges debt and equity transactions and negotiating with creditors.
9. Prepares offering circulars and other marketing materials.
10. Works with legal counsel on reviewing and drafting transaction and other legal documents.
11. Oversees the execution of new investment opportunities.
12. Prepares reports as requested from investors and other stakeholders.
13. Performs budget variance analyses for ongoing projects and monitoring their performance.
14. Drafts internal presentations and reports as required.
15. Manages relationships and communications with the current network of clients/investors.
16. Evaluates and assists in non-industry investments of the group.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
• 3-4 years of experience in similar field.
• Project finance related experience is a plus.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, with advanced Microsoft Excel and Power Point skills.
• Ability to work independently and demonstrate strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to respond quickly to situations and adhere to deadlines.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree in Business/ Economics.
• CFA and/or MBA
